CENTAC - Joint Entrance Test Puducherry

Centralized Admission Committee - CENTAC Pondicherry conducts a Joint Entrance Test - JET for admission into engineering degree courses leading to Bachelor of Technology - B. Tech. Admission in B.Tech. Engineering degree courses in various colleges and institutions across Union Territory of Pondicherry is done on the basis of Joint Entrance Test - JET merit ranking. CENTAC Govt. of Pondicherry issues notification for the conduct of Joint Entrance Test - JET every year.

Eligibility
Admission into the 1st semester of B.Tech. degree program is made on the basis of marks obtained on JET and qualifying examination (Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics). The marks obtained in the qualifying examination and JET is accounted in the ratio of 1:1.

Educational Qualification:
The educational qualification for admission into 1st semester of B. Tech. degree program is H.Sc. or an equivalent examination with minimum of 50% marks. An aspiring candidate must have studied Mathematics and Physics with Computer Science / Chemistry / Biology (Botany & Zoology) or Bio-Technology at H.Sc. or an equivalent academic level.

Improvement marks secured in the first improvement attempt will be considered.

Age Limit:
A candidate’s age should not be less than 17 years and more than 21 years in the fall of December in the year in which he / she want to appear in JET – Joint Entrance Test, Pondicherry. A three year age relaxation in upper age limit is given in case of schedule castes (SC) and schedule tribes (ST) category candidates.
